diesel
Because of their efficiency and durability, diesel engines have become the standard in powering trucks and buses, and that means there will always be a demand for diesel engineers. Other heavy vehicles and mobile equipment, including bulldozers and cranes, also are powered by diesel engines, as are many commercial boats and some passenger vehicles. Diesel technicians also use a variety of power and machine tools, such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, grinding machines, and welding equipment. Diesel engine maintenance and repair is becoming more complex as engines and other components use more electronic systems to control their operation. In most shops, workers often use hand-held or laptop computers to diagnose problems and adjust engine functions.

Legacy High School 2018
I graduated in 2018 having completed two years of the auto mechanic program at FutureForward at Bollman. Because of a partnership with Front Range Community College, during my second year in the program I was able to earn credits toward an AAS in Automotive Technology. I then went on to successfully complete RTD’s DTech program and, by fall of 2018, I was working at RTD as a diesel mechanic. Thanks to the training I received through Adams 12, I was able to gain the employment I sought. I continue to work at RTD and am earning a great salary, full benefits, and get to work in a field I love.
